City Mall back in Verviers

Verviers

City Mall is to regain control over its ‘Au fil de l’Eau’ shopping centre project in Verviers. The Brussels Commercial Court approved the positive opinion of the general meeting of the Urbanove creditors (Banimmo), the company to which the project had been transferred and which was in the process of a judicial reorganisation. City Mall CEO Patric Huon is returning to the city determined to undertake the initial building project with a permit free of all claims.

The project transferred at the end of 2014 is therefore expected to be resumed in Verviers. A project that the City Mall team knows well, having worked on it for almost 10 years. The shopping centre will have 28,000 m² GLA, with about a hundred shops and restaurants and 1,150 underground parking spaces.

Patric Huon has expressed his determination to start work as quickly as possible. The basics (location, catchment area) have not changed and the City Mall CEO is optimistic; marketing will start in the first quarter of 2017. As for the reasons for his return to Verviers: “It is a question of respect for all those who have believed in us and supported us over all these years. And of course because we believe in the development potential of the city and its region.”
